    Question for all you Mopar boys and girls did Mopar ever make an overdrive transmission

    4-speed A833 with 3rd and 4th reversed.

    Don't know about their modern automatics?

    There were overdrives as far back as the 40's I believe. I know they had them in the 50's.

    A833, A-518, 46RE, A-500 and a bunch more just what I had on the top of my head.

    my 56 Dodge and 56 Plymonth both have stock original one's in them....

    think the years 1941 to 1956 are the same....

    have the 833 OD - think years 1975 up to about 1985...

    They had them back in the 30's I believe 1936. Hard to believe Chrysler pretty much invented everything.

    My 66 Plymouth had a Bachman Turner Overdrive 8 track under the seat when I bought it.
