Car seems a little confused! Are you building a Custom or a Hotrod Merc? Chopped, skirts, frenched headlights.....BUT,scoop under the hood, tach on steering column! Don't get it...
Looks great from the outside and I love the dash. Kinda like Tuxedo with tennis shoes.

I have the same issue with my 51 Ford, chopped top full 50's custom but when it came to the driveline it's all hot rod. I am thinking about swapping the motor out with a stock small block and overdrive but I love the sound of a fat cam and lots of compression LOL. But I do like your car and can't wait to see it in color!

That's not what I meant....scoop looks out of place so does the tach on a Custom. I didn't say anything about the drivetrain, headers or the sound. It sounds bad***!

with the red dash, tach, and scoop. Might as well stay consistent and go with those bright reds you see on those 55 and 57 chevs. That's what I would do, and loose the skirts, drop it a little in the front, to be consistent with the compe***ion look. I had a friend with a Merc set up like that, Dropped real low in the front, no skirts, under the hood all the sheet metal had lightening holes.

HAHA! What about painting it the color of the dash? If you want a contrast, how about gun-metal grey?

  9. X2 on dash color or gray , x2 on changing out the scoop
