Hmm, yeah that's better. In that case the chop would be detrimental. I'd probably have an easier time accomplishing a chop though..

Saw the Surfari at Rodder's Journal Pimlico show last year. An exceptional car.

If you can call this a station wagon. By far the coolest one off them all, I think

Cool, but it's not a station wagon. It's called a panel van.

IMG_0002.jpg Try this one. 47 set up with a 365 horse 327, fenderwell exit headers, 4 speed, and ladder bars. Notice the front wheels, then the Moon gas pedal, reverse lockout, and wooden column drop in the interior shot. Normally there were Chianti bottles hanging from the roof slats. Took them down to make a pass. I never named her (thought about Barnwoodie), but we did a lot of miles together. Best beater at Outriders Picnic one year. Thanks guys!! The only other, dare I say it, "gasser style" woodie I ever saw was the Olds of Jeff Courtie. Always wanted to race him. What a pic that would have made.

  18. Cool is truly a state of mind: I remember when wagons weren't cool, but my football star brother made his wagon cool by force of personality:

    1967 in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware:

    1969 in Modified Production configuration:

2006 in Virginia Beach, Va.: (a clone of the original in memoriam to my brother)

    2013 Modified Production:

The 55-57 Chevys in all the longroof forms made it possible for wagons to be cool, Nomad, 2 door, 4 door and 9 passenger. But the Sedan Delivery was the coolest.

    My favourite:

The Austin A60 Cambridge Countryman. But only because it was our family car when I was a kid and it brings back memories.

My dad also had a Ford Cortina Estate. The woodies are really rare. We only had the deluxe. Ours was a '63 - one of the last of the series 1.

    Also love:
    '39-'48 Ford and Mercury Woodies.

This flamed 57 Nomad gets my vote, but that blue panel painted 59 Ford is a close second. Gary

When I was a kid, I had a AMT? model of a 4 door Model A Woody that I reckon was perfect. I have a bunch of Model A parts so maybe oneday, I might build one.

Its hard to like the wheels on the second one, but it does look good with the bonnet/hood

A lot of cool wagons. My vote for most potential would be for a 58 Buick wagon
