i want to replace this hideous alternator bracket (and alternator with some stock parts, i hatethis billet aluminum and chrome alternator.

its a chevy 350 motor, with what i ***ume to be a long water pump.

i want to put the alternator in the same spot, just use regular old chevy parts.

any one know the part numbers for the brackets, or what year models i should be looking for?.

the car is a 59 chevy, but i guess that shouldnt make any difference.

i got a set of valve covers and an old aircleaner already

    thnaks in advance

How about just roughing up the billet a bit with some sand paper and paint it black?

    Get the alternator & A/C brakets & pulley & alternator from a 70-82 Chevy V8.

Go to a car show & ask somebody to trade.

Mid 60's Corvette alternator bracket. Might cost more than the billet one though.

well thnaks for the replies. i have a 60s corvette, and the alternator bracket on that would not put the alternator foward enough, the corvette water pump is way way shorter than what i have on this car, hence i ***ume i am working with a "long water pump".

surely there is a stock GM part that i can just go buy to remedy this "problem"?

i am going for a stock look, at least make it look like a 59 chevy, even tho they had generators. i have the old 59 air cleaner, the base doesnt work but i can get a base to fit the edelbrock carb, no big deal.

i also got some old stock 350 valve covers to replace the hidious billet.

i can go but a cast alterator to replace the chrome.

so all i need is the alternator brackets. i am shooting for a look similiar to this.

The standard setup for a long water pump is a flat bracket that bolts to the water pump and a spacer that fits behind the pivot hole of the alternator. A long bolt goes through all of that and bolts into one of the holes in the front of the head.
But I'm not sure that's what you have either.

  11. I am pretty sure that I have the same bracket that is shown in the picture. The bottom mount attaches to the manifold and the upper bracket is a vibrating piece of junk. I think if you had some decent pictures just about any fab shop could make a replica. I could build some and send them your way, but I am not sure the shipping would be worth it. I could even draw it up on cad and send it to one of your local shops if you would like. any one with a CNC Plasma Table or Water Jet could cut them out and bend them to match the factory ones. I think that the lower mount has slotted holes and the upper one just has an offset bend to bring it out to the correct spot.

What exhaust manifold do you have?
