In my head the stock bumper & over rider can be real kool on a kustom with some mods. On the primered 51 we are going to narrow and peak the uprights and cut them out in a pattern to match the lincoln tail light lenses for the exhaust to exit. Pinch both outer tips of the bumper ends to fit the rear fender tighter and fill all the bolt holes. Other can work also like this 55 chevy or this full kustom one but you have to be careful they do not look to heavy. Rick Erickson / Extreme Kustoms 951 678-3520
I'm doing a 51 Caddy bumper on the back of mine. Straykat has one on his also. It's ALOT of work though! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=795685
Ok, thanks for the advice and I have posted poctures of my mercury build. Tell me what u think so far pros and cons.
If u customizers look at my album and tell me what you think avoit the mercury I am building, I posted pictures on my album and I am trying to learn how to operate the hamb.
I have been thinking of doing a 1950's Cadillac bumper on my mercury for some time but talking with rick of extreme kustoms he told me they look on the heavy side and now that i have looked at a few I agree. I now like the 1955 Chevy bumper the best but the stock bumper is still cool
