1947 - 1950 buick key fob

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by matlack083, May 8, 2013.

  1. I have a vintage key fob from a Va Buick Dealership that has what appears to be a 1947 to 1950 Buick Car on it;

    Can anyone identify what bodystyle of Buick?

  5. Thanks. It looks like a right hand steer; Was there such a thing?
    The dealership was Porter Auto Sales in Galax Va.

  6. Did Buick make a car with a rightside steering wheel in the 1940's?

    Yup, they did make them but obviously not very many. Without boring you with details they were probably not US built but Canadian cars as they would have almost certainly gone to Commonwealth countries (S. Africa, Oz, NZ, UK, etc).

  8. Does anyone think that it looks like the steering wheel on the key fob is on the right hand side?

    I see what you mean, but that could be anything. If it was meant to be the steering wheel, it ought to continue past the vent window.

    As indicated previously they did make right hand steer for the foreign market but it is more likely that the pattern for the kee fob was transfered to the leather like a mirror image.

    If you bought any GM car nw from a Class Dealership they'd give one of these with the keys (Trunk-doors: and ignition) with the car. I still have a Pontiac FOB from my 1956 purchase from Hine Pontiac in San Diego. Hard to find item now.

  12. Thanks for the info.
    I have listed it in an online auction.
