So i'm pulling apart my big ol' Chrysler coupe and i need to get the rear windows rolled down some so i can get to the chrome molding and pull it. The issue is that I have power windows, and the whole nose is apart, so i cant just hook up the battery. The only option is to put power to the individual window motors, but I have no idea what I'm doin. I have a battery booster pack as a 12v power source ( i ***ume i can use that?)

I put some extensions on the 2 plug wire that connects to the window motor... now... what to hook up to what... or at the very least, what the hell am i supposed to do now?

Use you 12 volt screw gun battery. We used them in the factory to repair.

hmm, only have an 18v drill. Is the booster pack too much juice?

  4. Well I'm not 100% sure about your Chrysler wiring.
I see a green and a purple wire.
Chances are that the ground is common thru the ch***is but that's only a guess.
If that is the case then one would need hot for up and the other need hot for down with the negative side of the battery going to the ch***is. It could also be that one hot& other one ground for up and reversed for down. Need to see the switch to be sure

The booster PACk isn't too much if hook it up correctly. It might be too much and cause you trouble if you hook it up wrong. The 12 bolt drill won't p*** enough Amps fast enough to do damage, perfect for trial and error WTF is this investigation.

On the window motors I have come across you hook one wire to (+) and the other wire to (-) for one direction and then reverse the connections for the other direction.

Connect your + lead from your battery pack to one terminal and the - battery pack lead to the other wire. if the window wants to go up instead of down, reverse the wires. The window motor is a direct drive motor, if the power goes one way the motor turns clockwise, when you reverse the wires, the motor runs counterclockwise. All you need to determine is which way is up and which way is down. A 10 amp 12 volt battery charger will run the window motor as well. Gene

Ohm it out to see which wire goes from the switch to the fuse box. Disconnect that wire from the car and hook it to the (+) on your battery. Hook the (-) on your battery to the body and use the switch to roll the window down.
