Hi Everyone, I have the cab off my 58 ford truck and was wanting to get it stripped and primed (The hood and front fenders too). Anyway, who in central Texas does this, and what is the recommended method. Thanks in advance. BB

Sheetmetal is tricky. depends on how good a part you are starting with. more rust, blast it. just paint stripping, consider doing it yourself and spot blasting any corrosion. Most everyone says dipping leaves too much residue in cracks and crevices that will leach out later and ruin a paint job. Others swear by it. There is a dipping service located 1/4 mi east at 45N and FM242 between Houston and Conroe. I hauled my stuff to Ntxcustoms (because I won a HAMB auction they sponsored) and they blasted and primed and did excellent work. there are a couple of blasting services in the Houston area that put ads on Craigslist, but I have not seen their work and cannot comment.
Bruce's rod shop uses blast from the past they do a great job and phosphate coat the metal they are in Conroe and his prices are reasonable Eric
