I got some repop gl*** for one of my cars and this logo is annoying me. my original gl*** has no logo or markings.

this is painted or baked on not etched, anyone know if this can be removed? i tried a razor blade and it does nothing.

I bet it's acid etched, if the razor blade did nuthin' it's gotta be acid etched.

    Hey,

That depends on what state the vehicle will be driven in- next ta NYC, the Peoples Republic of Kalifornica has some of the toughest equipment laws in the nation:mad: If the gl*** isn't oem & doesn't have a DOT# you may have to replace it with one that does to get a state cert. Too, if you sell the vehicle, and removed the oem gl***, and it's involved in an accident, guess who the lawyers will be lookin for:eek:

i understand the DOT logo logic but i dont think old cars really should display this in visible areas at least put it in a spot not visible or something.

all my old cars have a PPg or Carlite logo and they are quite faint this is in your face annoying as if someone threw a white decal over the gl***.

this is another reason i hate repop **** but finding original good gl*** is nearly impossible these days

I wonder if it would take a stain? Experiment with a color that would hide that frosted white?

Chances are, it is there to comply with Federal laws and, by extension, State laws. Leave it and get used to it.

Those marks are sandblasted or 'silkscreened' on before the gl*** hits the tempering furnace. They are not coming off. sorry

It's a ceramic enamel and its not possible to remove it as its baked to the gl*** , at least it is in the uk . The uk government this year is stopping any imported car cl***ic or new from being registered to go on the road without a baked on "E" mark to prove the gl*** is fit for our roads.

Yeah its not coming off i now accept that , guess my wifes suggestion makes the most sense hide it with a HAMB sticker:)

  12. The HAMB sticker would work great, could be worse...you could have this baked onto the gl***...

^ I like the sticker idea, cover it up with decal on the outside that's a plug for your car club, or favorite track / place / parts mfg. The markings would still be visible from the inside, should an inspector ask about your gl***. Gary

acid etched gl*** graffiti can be made less visible with clear nail polish.

I'd keep polishing it until it was gone.

For fun, here's a web site where you can look up the gl*** manufacturer from the DOT number. Says DOT 686 is: YUANG CHANG GL*** CO., LTD. TAIWAN, P.R.O.C. !!

Epoxy seems to stick to gl*** (as I unintentionally discovered). You might try stripper on it.

Pull gl*** from frame and switch end for end and it will be on the other side of car?
