just got back home after 1500 miles in a 52 hour bonzi parts run.

put off doing this for a few months so made the decision to go and get it done. i do not get out to see guys and there rides up close often enough so i was looking forward to the trip.

left detroit friday at 4pm and back a 8pm sunday, it was a lot of driving, to much fast food, gallon of coffee?

went to chicago to view the progress on my 60 buick bubble top resto

( gonna start a build thread soon). so i was there sat morning at 830am stayed for about 2 hours. the car is coming along well, its gonna be done in 2014, just getting ready to do the body drop and final ***embly.

from there i drove 6 hours to albert lea minn, to meet up with ed and look at some 53/4 chev doors, got the door stuff done, spent time with ed as he showed me his 53 chev convert project and his model a project and his done and cool looking 50 chev sedan delivery. ed has got alot of great metal working skills, it was nice to see this stuff in person.

then went north about 60 miles to owatonna mn to meet up with long time friend les a.

les is a great 52/4 ford expert, pick up some front fenders for 53 ford. les taught me a bunch of new stuff about 52/4 fords. stayed there for 2hours. i am trying to get les to join the hamb as he has a great history of customs and many tricks to make 53/4 ford a slick ride.

then to milwaukee wi to meet up with hamber ricky ricardo and borrow a gravel shield from him. ricky always impresses me with his knowledge of 49-54 chev's learned a bunch more, hung out in his cool workshop for a few hours. he got a awsome project in progress! ( i'll let him talk about it)

ricky was cool to meet me on sunday morning as i got to milwaukee about midnight saturday and was tired, i got up tired,

then off to detroit, lot of traffic in chicago and then home.

    wow what a trip.

thanks to all the guys for a great weekend

    the ems guy
