I will be returning to the USA in the middle of June. I am experiencing mixed feelings of anticipation and loss; I have been here with my family for almost four years. I look forward to being back in my country with the rest of my family and friends, but I shall miss my friends here and all of the neat things about my home here. Happiness tinged with regret; I guess there is always another thing that you wished you could have done before you leave, but now its really too late to plan anything big. I have to go in a months time. As is usually the case, as soon as I am on the plane I will begin to separate my life here and put it in my minds storage as one of the better chapters in my life. From there I will eagerly anticipate getting home to Texas (even though I dont have a place to live yet, my house is still rented) and how much I will enjoy being there. Ill be in a new place by the next month and by that time my stuff will come to me from storage and from here (maybe) and it will be Christmas in July! If I run across anything I forgot I had, Ill probably sell it (this excludes tools and car related stuff)! Ill miss Oz, but Ill sure be glad to be home in the Land of the Free Can't wait to see my '58.
I'll tell you what, it is so ingrained for me to drive on the right side of the road that even after being here for so long, if there is no traffic on the road when I am pulling out I have to remind myself to stay on the left side.
Going back to texas is almost like australia anyway mate, when i was over in texas for holidays the people in texas where really nice and made me feel like i had known them for years. It's a nice part of America, good luck on your journey mate.
Thanks, true about Texas. I liked living in Brizzy as well (Northgate) and working in the Valley on Wickham St by the Ferrari dealership, always nice noises around there.
