This is a pretty cool thread.

  4. You're right. The engine must have been a '56. I remember it did have the removable bellhousing which made the installation much easier. The '40 actually had a hot 286" flathead in in from mid '55 through most of '57 (untill I got beat for the first time on the street by a 270-hp '57 Chevy and decided the 'flathead era' was over for me.) I installed the hemi in Dec. of '57. It went through a LOT of '40 Ford side shift transmissions after that.....but it darn sure looked cool under the hood!

It's only been 52-years ago! They say your memory is the SECOND thing to go.....I can't remember what that FIRST thing was! ;o)

  5. LOL, Tell me about it, I have forgotten more then I recall now. I used to have a bad case of CRS now it's a severe case of CRAFT!

As far as the first thing, I'm having problems hitting the mark in the bathroom let alone anywhere else!

    Here's a one-owner I found some years ago. It wasn't for sale.

This Tudor came out of San Francisco in 1983 with 41000 miles. Hadn't been driven since 1961.

I think this car is in the new Peter Vincent book. Does anyone have any other pics of this thing? It looks like a total bad***.

Here is our coupe. It has a cammed up '68 GTO 400 Pontiac with a 4 speed. We traded a '36 Ford coupe for it about 30 years ago.
