Just lost my brake lights but got power both sides of the switch when peddle is pressed. Now my turn signals work so the bulbs are fine. so I have an issue in the loom between the switch and the dash can anyone advise, shed a little light or supply a brake/turn signal circuit diagram thanks

my manual did not show anything, but i found this on an old post from a few years back

From the 1949-1950-1951 Lincoln Mercury Overhaul Manual:
(the O's are the terminals as shown in your pic)

O - GREEN - TO STOP LIGHT SWITCH

    O - GREEN WITH ORANGE - LEFT REAR STOP/TURN
    >>>>>>> O - GREEN WITH WHITE - LEFT FRONT TURN & LEFT INDICATOR
    O - BLUE - TO FLASHER "L" TERMINAL
    >>>>>>> O - WHITE WITH BLUE - RIGHT FRONT TURN & RIGHT INDICATOR
    O - ORANGE WITH BLUE - RIGHT REAR STOP/TURN

O - GREEN - TO STOP LIGHT SWITCH

The two to the stop light switch are shown jumpered at the switch.

Juice is comming out of the switch? correct? Power at the *** end when brakes applied? Time to start tracing(unfortunatelly):(.Work your way backwards- check your wiring for any defects especially if it's oem.

You have two power inputs to your turn signal switch. One comes from the key switch, and the other one comes from the stoplight switch. If your turn signals are working, then the bullet connector from the stoplight switch under the dash must be partially pulled out. There's six wires going to the ts switch. Test for power at the stoplight switch when the brake pedal is depressed. If you've got power under that condition, then (for test purposes) jumper the stoplight switch and find the wire that is hot at the six bullet connectors. I think that one is unplugged.
