Hey Piston Farmer. Saw you over on the Stovebolt Page. If you decide to remove that spare tire carrier when you install that flatbed, keep me in mind.
Well I changed the carb for a Carter YF, what a great improvement! I also picked up a 10 lug Dana 80 rearend out of a 95 chevy 3500 HD ( when the HD actually meant something) Which means I got way friendlier gears, and disk brakes, and I can use the original wheels once I have the centers of them opened up.
move the rear axle forward and put a regular bed on it. Modify it to fit and keep the dump ram operational.
Neat project. The ol' 235 sounds good. You could make an awesome car hauler out of your rig if you wanted to, but a flatbed would be cool too. Keep us posted.
Cant do that, its actually not that long of a wheel base to start with, the long down the road plans are to make it a crew cab. And as for how it looks now, I agree its pretty fun how it is. im tempted to take it to a good guys show just how it is to scare people lol
She drives like an old beast of a truck. I have to find some p30 front spindles so I can really get going on making it road worthy
I've got a 1950 2 ton chevy too I been trying to find best way to convert to diesel thought bout a short bus swap. I've currently spray painted it light lilac purple with rustoleum spray paint
I have a 49 6400 I'm fighting with at the moment, generator just went, might be the time to update wiring and switch to 12v.
