I was doing a little bit of research on my wife's ancestors and found out that her Great Great Great Grandfather had bought the first Pierce Arrow in Texas. He took his family on a cross country trip in it and his daughter wrote a journal along the way. And also all the trips they had taken in it. The journal was just sold at an auction this past November. I'm waiting on a call back from someone at the auction company. Trying to get info on that journal. Man it would be great if that car was still around.
That's a great old pic. Would love to hear more of the story. Can you read what it says on the photo? He must have been a wealthy man, those cars were $5000 dollars, compared to a $500 dollar Ford. Can you get a better scan of that pic? A friend of mine has a '10 Pierce.
