I have a 1942 Chevy truck that has the MS code, a Conventional Heavy Duty Truck - 160'' WB, 1 1/2 ton flatbed, stake/stock rack , single axle/dual wheels. could somebody tell me please what was the maximum weight loading for this truck, thanks
I dont know about a 42 Chev but we had a 52 ford 2 ton that had a box and hoist on it . We would haul 200 bu of grain in it regularly 200 bu x 60 lbs per bu = 12,000 lbs. What are you planning ?
I just need to stamp a new repro weight plate to replace the one that has been removed at some stage, I want to get it correct and in lbs as it would have been originally
I don't have any info on the HD trucks for 1942, but I can tell you that the 46 Chev HD trucks with the 160" wb had a GVW of 15000 lbs. The medium duty had a GVW of 13000 lbs. Can't imagine that there would be any difference between the 42 and the 46. Hope this helps you some. Norm
