For those that dont know, Hot Rod Magazine had these nifty little cards, still not exactly how one would get one back in the day, or their purpose, but they are cool. And Uncle Ray's roadster was fortunate enough to be featured on one of them. Hmmm, nearly a mirror image of the card
Just some additions to this thread....maybe old news to some, maybe new to others. These photos are courtesy of the private Oakland Roadster Show collection of our own R&C RON, amazing guy with an amazing collection of auto memorabilia. Oakland Roadster Show 1955: Uncle Ray was in Army boot camp at the time of the show so his two brothers and a few friends finished up the car and made sure it was at the show for him. It was 2 days after the show before they were even able to contact him to let him know he won.
Tommy had the car at the local McDonalds cruise in a few years ago,the car stopped me in my tracks. I've know Tommy for a long time but had never seen this car IN PERSON,but in magazines. HRP
beautiful ride/winner - as a side note, the 1952 Roadster Show Winner - Bud Crackbon 1925 Roadster PU - is being restored and soon will be For Sale - current owner hopes to have it at TROG, Pismo Beach
Hey! There is Blackie Gejeian there on the right, but you already know that since you mentioned the tie they had at the 1955 AMBR. Love how he would tip his car over to show off the chrome undercarriage. He finally "borrowed" a full length mirror from the women's restroom and set it under the car so the judges could check out the chrome work.
Huge thanks once again to Ryan and his crew for this site and what it has meant to my build and the memory of my Uncle Ray Anderegg.
Hard to believe what 50 years did to the AMBR cars. I never cared for Blackies car but what did an 11 year know…
