Russco - I don't know who was more surprised, Sid, or me.

Man what a great story. Bet Sid never thought he would hear about let alone see his car again.

Thank you for sharing the photographs and stories.

    Great story about the roadster!

Does it say what tracks were in the Shaheen and Webb Stock Car ***ociation?
Joe Shaheen owned "Little Springfield" Speedway and Wayne Webb Sr. owned Macon Speedway. Webb also promoted Walsh Stadium in MO; Sandoval, LaPlace, Centrailia, 2 tracks in Champaign, 2 tracks in Danville, the Springfield mile, Duquion, and other tracks in IL; a few tracks in IN, WI,MN, and even a track in Canada. Shaheen may have been involved in some of those ventures as well.
Webb's son is a friend of mine. His brother Wayne Jr. raced sprint cars until a few years ago.

Sid told me he raced with Shaheen Webb ***ociation. He raced at Springfield Speedway, Lake Hill Speedway (St. Louis), Walsh Stadium, and Cape Girardeau a**** others. I don't know if Lake Hill or Cape Gerardeau were Shaheen Webb.

That's cool, I once got thrown out of Macon Speedway by Wayne Jr. for telling the flagman he was number 1 after a hot lap session, but I think I must have used the wrong finger!

Was Wayne Jr's brother Richie the flagman?

I don't know who the flagman was, I probably shouldn't have done it. because I know it wasn't really his fault, but they put 25 or so open wheel cars out on a sloppy track to hot lap all at once. Needless to say that was a disaster, I broke my back there in a hot lap crash so I was a little concerned about it at the time.

I talked to Rich Webb today. He said Shaheen Webb Racing ***ociation ran 7 nights a week....Monday at LaPlace, Tuesday at Danville, Wednesday at Sandoval, Thursday at Brownstown, Friday at Champaign, Saturday at Macon, and Sunday at Springfield.
They also promoted races at Walsh Stadium on Wed. and Fri. but that was before the 7 nights a week deal.

That looks like Sid, standing in front of the 340 in picture #20. Wearing the same jacket he has on in the earlier pics.
