what is good for me and my not be for you so just wondering here ?

Are you planning on using it for OT cars ? Not sure it is the best way to go for pre 65 cars ? Just wondering what or how you plan to use it as that would make a difference to me on what model or type I would get.

Good point bobby socks. What works for one person may not be suitable for the next.
For instance, me....I RARELY remove wheels and tires, so my drive on lift works well.

  5. Scissor lifts are good for swapping wheels and servicing brakes, not stuff I do regularly. I spend too much time under my car, so I'm saving up for a 2 post lift.

I wanting it for work on new and old cars, mostly bodywork, spot repairs, detailing,so this style lift will definitly fit my needs because its all underneath and out of the way.. but my question is more related to the brand AUTO LIFT.
Iv talked with a couple of the local lift dealers and from I gather there all made over seas and very much alike. The Auto lift is on monthly special at a dealer with in 30 miles of where i live and I feel the dimensions of it have an edge on the others, its a bit longer, fully collapsed as low or lower, and goes as high or a bit higher then some of the competition

  9. I have one. Bought it used 6 or 7 years ago. I use the shit out of it. No problems or complaints. I do bodywork, and have no room for a two or 4 post. For the type of work I do I think this was my best choice.

I was looking for a lift to fit my budgetwitch wasn't much. I went to my local eye doctor about two years ago, located next to walmart. I spied a rotary lift in parts behind the store. I went into the tire shop and asked who it belonged to and the store manager sad you if you have 750.00. It has the frontend alignment set up with 2 traveling air jacks. Needless to say I have a lift. They replaced it because one of the equalising cables broke. 52.00 later I had a good lift. I have a little luck every 10 years or so. Its a 2 post with ramps but does take up a lot of room though.

  11. PM me if you are interested in a used one - a friend has one for sale, I can get details if you are interested.

I though kwik lift was out of business. I know Danny sold it a couple years ago.
Did he get back into it?
    I have a kwik lift.

I have A Snap-on also ,it is made in the USA by company called wheel tronics or something close, I think it is great because i can use it in my garage and being only 3 inches tall when collapsed you can park over it.Also can roll out in the drive if need be.I bought mine used for $600.

Yes a new owner has purchased the patents and all the equipment and rights.
The new owner invited Danny to come help him run the business.
Yes, Danny is back in the lift business....

Bobby Socks,,,thanks ,,,I appreciate any posts,,,there always some thing to be learned either way....thanks again for the all the replies,,

Just wanted to let you all know I ended up going with the Auto Lift model MR6K-48.Its a real stout piece of equipment, frustrating thing it kicked my ass getting it home Friday before the 3 day weekend(my old C-10 over heated and starter quit good thing having triple A) so a 60 mile round trip turned into a 4 hour ordeal, regardless of that I couldn't wait to get it set up and went to work on the unloading and assembly of the pump/dolly then got to the final step of hooking up the pump to the rams and found the left out the necessary metric hydraulic fitting so being a 3 day holiday I didnt get to use it till yesterday were I got a fitting from PARKER.
Anyway the short of it is Im super impressed with the way it performs and already can tell you I wish I bought one years ago.I strongly recommend owning one. As far as what brand I dont really have anything to compare this to but the construction of this unit is plenty stout. thanks again jim

The snap on unit I have is good if I need to lift and car for brakes, lower body work and wheel stuff. It is useful. I also have a four post unit. Both work great. Both were given to me. I am waiting on the same kinda deal for a two post unit.
