I need a set....do they even exist? I'd go for a set in 13", 14" or even 15".... skinny CRAGARS or TRU-SPOKES too. What say yooos?
The Cragars exist, I have an ad in a Rod&Custom from '68 or so in the front reading room announcing their availability. I have actually seen them too. But, the Mopar guys that are into A body stuff are big into them and they can get pricey. The TRU-S I kinda doubt, Supreems I don't have a clue... I know the best dodge for the early bolt pattern blues is to convert over to 5 on 4 1/2" stuff with late model "A" or "F" body spindles and such, and redrill the rear. Problem solved...Kinda.
How about going to something like a slot or Halibrand with a flat center that can be redrilled? I happen to know an O/T Maverick that looks F'n awsome with a set of slots...And is for sale too... Perhaps I've said too much.
call dave at true spoke, hes a good dude. he may be able to get you a set of new ones. he is making supremes now, as with his spokes. tell him I sent ya. http://www.truespoke.net/ 760 - 731-8301
Yeah, Chip. Kind of the point on the re-drill. I am so DONE with mentally playing with myself on the Dart. All I am going to do at this point is go through the front end....throw some wheels on....lower the rear a bit, run same size 13's or 14's and call it done. I'm into liquidating right now as I'm really into getting the pickup on the road. Ryno....if I can't find a CHEAP set of chrome wheels I'll definitely go this route.
i've got a set of 14" x 6" Cragar S/S with 5 on 4" bp on my Valiant BUT I bought them back in 1966!! Don't know if they still make them as not that long after I got mine they went to the multi-fit stuff.
Last time I was looking through the vintage wheels in the storage room at a local old time parts store (opened in 1946) I saw a set of the slotted steel chrome wheels in the 5 on 4" plymouth bolt pattern. These are the smooth steel chrome plated wheels with the kidney bean slots. I can check again if you like.
There are out there. When I had the Dart wagon I seen someone was making the supreme look a likes available in the 4" bp. Sorry, I can't remember who but I thought they were listed on Evil bay!
I've seen Keystone Kustomag wheels with that pattern as well. Not sure I've ever seen a Supreme though.
This company has some 5 x 4 inch wheels listed but doesn't look like they have any complete sets. http://www.akhwheels.com/pages/inventory.php?cat=5 Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
AMENDMENT time...Not looking for aluminum wheels BUT one exception would be a set of 5 spoke American or ET or... Just gotts to be skinny and have the goofy 5 on 4" pattern (4 of 'em)! Keep an eye out for me...thanks!!!!
A-body guy here....have some okay Keystones I would let go....but not real ready to let go of my Cragers.....they did make a 15/7 as I have a pair that was running MnH's...
They are probably closed memorial day but I will check later this week and get a picture if still there.
I bought a new set of Cragers for my 68 Barracuda but they had to search 3 different warehouses to find a complete set since they were discontinued. This was in 1979. Today I guess would be much tougher.
Summit has 14 x 6 Cragars on ebay for around $341.27 a set free shipping. You can get the same deal just calling them with out going thru ebay. But you can see the picture on there.Don't forget to buy a set of 11/16's lug nuts if you buy Cragars. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cragar-08-6...Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d0c626366&vxp=mtr Steve
Thanks....I guess that will be my backup if I can't find them used. Stillrunners...I know I'm being picky, but I've never dug Keystone Kl***ics, thanks though.
A few years ago Team III had a booth at the Streetrod Nats and had their E-T cl***ic on display. It was a 5 on 4 bp. They still have the 5 on 4 available. http://www.team3wheels.com/cl***ic_v.html
