I had to sell my 32 5-window back in about 02 and while painful, I knew then as I do know that it was the right thing to do for my family. Since then, "carma" has brought me several very cool cars by chance and luck and there are many more to come. Is there another 32 in my future? I keep my eyes and ears open and with some luck another may come my way, but my kids have been with me all along.

I have been in pretty much the same boat for a while now, we have been plowing all our money into my wifes business, nothing(well, very little anyway) left over for toys. Deferring fun now for a better return later. I'm sure in the future you will be glad you did. Just that sometimes the "future" seems so damn far away!!
Selling your car has to ****, but it will pay off for you.

No shame in taking care of real life. I had a conversation with a friend of mine last weekend about the same subject. He felt sorry for not being able to go to a show because he had to take care of his kids, fix his house and cut his lawn. He was tripping on what the other car clubs would think. I told him that all this **** we do is just that... ****. Real life and all it's complexities should always come first. Anyone who doesn't get that, doesn't get it at all.

The only thing that seperates us from the stamp collector is a garage and tools. This is not a lifestyle, it's a hobby.

Not trying to minimize here, but at the end of the day it is all just 'stuff' no matter how strongly we relate to it. If you think of people who have lost everything - whether through flood, fire, tornado and have to start out from scratch again, it kind of puts things in perspective.

When the time is right there will be others out there and one of them has your name on it. Sometimes life has to take priority over fun and the key to it is not to have regrets or remorse, but to do the right thing and understand why you did what you did. Clearly you have done what is right for you, your family and your future. So while the memories will linger and you may feel sad and wistful, ultimately we cannot change what has happened but we can change what will happen and you have already taken a big step forward in determining your future....

There was a very famous jalopy derby driver from Los Angeles named "Termite" Snyder who had to make a profoundly tough decision in late 1961. The jalopy cars were swithing to over head valve engines for 1962 and Snyder had to make the call of investing more money in his car or his family. Finally he called a friend and said for a fixed price you take the car, trailer, parts, and anything related to jalopy racing. The friend took everything related to racing. Snyder put his family first.

There should be a law against sending 32 Fords out of the country.

Best of luck. I've had many toys go for the reasons you stated. I will do some advertising for you tomorrow by wearing my cowtown t shirt to Beatersville.

Sorry you had to sell your car but at least you get to do what you love doing for a living versus people who have to force themselves to go to a job they hate everyday. If you love what your doing, it's not really a job is it?

Just like everyone else says, you can always find another car. I sold a hotrod to put some cash into a business that my wife was running, never regretted it for a minute. Though she has now p***ed away, the business sold and the car long gone I have great memories of what we did together and I know we did the right thing.
I Dig your t-shirts too. I have one and I wear it often.

I did the same thing 7 years ago selling my coupe to become an owner in the company I worked for, have never regretted it once and now have another project that will hopefully be my "keeper". You'll find another project down the road. Good luck on your business, you'll do well!!
