Hello from the Midwest. My name is Aaron and I'm from the Kansas City area. I first have to say I love this message board. It's been most helpful during my research and most recent purchase. I am the proud owner of a 1954 Chevy 4dr sedan (straight 6, 3 on the tree) I paid a reasonable price for a rustless beauty. It's all original (as best as I can tell) and I felt pretty good about my purchase. (It even has floorboards!) My problem is pretty straight forward. The car didn't run at the time of purchase so I made the deal, took the ***le, and towed it away. Got home and finally checked the VIN against the ***le and no match. As best as I can figure the number on the ***le is similar to the motor serial for a 53 Bel Air (but doesn't match the serial on the actual motor). The VIN or serial number on the driver side door plate is for a 1954 Chevy 210 sedan and of course doesn't match the ***le. I've tried to contact the seller but, of course he doesn't return my calls or messages. Do I call the police? I don't know if I should start tearing into this car and pray I can get it ***led in my name; or try to get my money back? Please, if anyone has ANY advice or suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks! PS. I'll have pics up ASAP.
Welcome to the HAMB and good luck with your ***le issue. You should repost this on the main message board for more advice
