First, I've been on eBay. I've seen the Roth stuff, & I'm not thrilled with the blues/greens/etc that are added. I found some fuschia which is a little more purple than I want. Searched the net, & found some hot pink in the UK. It was expensive, & that's w/o shipping. I'd consider all pinks from a light pastel, right up to hot pink & maybe a fuschia color. So, if any of y'all know where there is a stash of .015 (preferably) pink metalflake, my '67 Triumph bobber & chopped '37 Chev pickup will be thankful.

Mary Kay cars have a pink now that might be close to what you want. It's a standard number.

Uno Pickup, click on this link and check out numbers 15 and 16. http://www.blingflake.com/
These flakes are added to clear paint. You can always contact them for more info. By the way, my Uncle (who passed already) rode Triumphs back in the 50s and he had one that he painted pink. I saw photos of it and it looked good so don't listen to neg remarks about pink. It was good enough for Elvis.

Try Michaels craft store and look for glitter.
Works as metalflake and is inexpensive.

My wife wants to do the same exact thing on her next rod.

    Glad this thread got started.

By the way, I remember there were TONS of big lifted trucks in the late 80's early 90's that had pink all over them: stripes, wiper arms, etc etc. So it can't be THAT "gay" I don't think.

Glitter is for kindergartners & strippers.

I've seen the paintwithpearl & blingflake. Checked out the sparkle EFX. These all seem to be .008, & I was hoping for .015. After checking some of the pics, maybe the .008 isn't too bad.

Some of you need to grow up, already. Like politics, gender, sexuality, and sexual preference are not appropriate topics for this board, nor are they anybody's business, here, or anywhere.

No matter how it's sugar coated or displayed, pink is considered a feminine color by the masses. You can get away with a pink shirt and a grey suit, but it better be a nice suit.

Seriously? Some of you are protesting too much, if you get my drift.

Homophobes take note before I'm banned from the site: I raised 3 kids BY MYSELF, was the frontman in some countryish bands (groupies!), drove circle track (manly enough for ya?), build hotrods, & got married last September (check out the chick in the funky red pants on my photo album).

One of my former builds was a way cool '70 Javelin with a dual carbed SBC, oh by the way, it was white with fuschia (that's Panther Pink to you MoPar dorks), Purple & Blue stripes, with PINK PEARL over everything. Everyone told me I was nuts, until they saw it. Funny, the gay jokes stopped when they wouldn't stop begging me to sell it to them.

And, lastly: apparently, unlike you who like to sling words at the computer, one of my favorite things is pink!

It's not gay, it is feminine-pink's just socially accepted as being that way. It's your car, paint it your way. But there's probably a reason that it's not widely available-it's not widely acceptable or in demand. So you're going to need tough skin -but again, it's your truck and bike.

And, who knows, maybe you can get a Mary Kay contract with the cycle crowd. :)

I know how it is to be a single Dad and raise 3 children alone because I've bee there and I am still there since my youngest is 17. It's not easy, especially for the kids not having a Mom around.
As I mentioned before, just ignore those Neg remarks and go forth with your plans for your truck and bike. Good Luck

  22. Some of you guys have some growing up to do. Its a color. I think green is the ugliest color in the world, yet some of you guys are all over it

  23. ^^^Agreed. The last time I got into an argument over the color pink was in the 6th grade, out in the playground.

It's a color. He wants metalflake. That's all.

I have a friend who's a womanizer, player kinda guy, He had his truck painted "coral". In his eyes it was coral but the rest of the world saw it as pink. He got tired of the abuse and rather than re-painting it he decided it was easier to sell it.

i drove a metal flaked candy pink caddy lowrider for two years being 6'3" and almost 300# nobody ever said a thing! i like pink too... but i always use silver flake and a pink candy. so much easier to get your exact color your wanting and a little dry purple pearl in some intercoat clear never hurts either!
