For my 50 Ford -- for dummy style not type with long handle Question Re; Installing Here is my pic with molding removed. * I removed my garnish molding and there is no way you drill through pillar , attach nut and bolt and then put garnish molding back on to hide nut and bolts ---- so do you drill through both the Pillar and Interior Garnish (windshield) molding, and than run a long nut and bolt through both. * I ***ume you don't just use sheet metal screws Pictures would be helpful - post here or send to me at cnathans@yahoo.com
My dummy spots attach with just two screws. No need to drill through the post. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
The important part is to place them in the right position. You can go through the stainless if needed, you may have to shape the mounting base for the best position where your mounting them. They go on with two sheet metal screws or you can tap for threaded fasteners. Be sure to have clearance with your window gl***, touch it when drill and you'll lose a window. GOOD LUCK............... Most states 2 spotlights were only allowed on emergency vehicles so in alot of states you couldn,t p*** inspection and would get a ticket for them .guy,s started cutting the handle off so they could mount them with just 2 screws and not make a big hole and when they went to inspection they would take them off and screw them back on after they p***ed then cal custom started making dummy spots and they came to be the cool one wish i had all the handles that were sawed off all those 522 and 112 spotlights
A lot were cut off in the day, because that was the only they would mount on some cars. Saw a pair of S-552's go for $550. on ebay and they were cut offs. What you say is true also in the early days. CRUISER
