Wanting to run the old traditional American grey 5 spoke mags on my 60 F 100 have changed all the suspension to disc brakes and GM 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern for simplicity but all I have seen in the 16 inch are ugly as the spokes are curved like a banana are there any other brands of this style of wheel that the spokes are straight.

Well if you have disc brakes you might need those curved like a "banana" spokes or they won't clear the calipers

Check out American racing's TTO line of wheels, they have straight spokes and are about as close as you can get to the vintage Torq Thrust and come in a 16 inch wheel.

Thanks guys for all the info the new Americans and ET wheels look perfect lots of sizes too.Guess what I saw was on the newer Mustangs curved to clear the brakes and move the rim inward as all the newer cars are made.

American racing came out with the Torque Thrust D's in 1965 for the Corvette that had disc brakes that raced in the Trans Am series. I would take a ruler and put it on the rotor where the wheels mount and spin the rotor to see if it clears the calipers before I would spend $500 on a pair of wheels that I couldn't use.

I have a super early set of American Torque thrusts cast in aluminum, and I ran them on the disc brakes on my MustangII under the Plymouth for many years. They are not "D" types either. Must just be some discs they don't clear...

  8. Depends on the offset of the rotor.
Sometimes a small spacer corrects the clearance issue.
