    I believe you are referring to rad as a radiator? If so, I am putting it just in front of the motor. I did cut down the front of the frame and I am adding a 1933 Ford grille. It is definitely too long of a front frame in the last pic to look good. This is the first and last ground up build for me so there will be a lot of trial and error. And yes it is way too much motor for this car but I have always wanted a blower. This is more of a cruising to car shows car than anything else. I will post more pic's as I get farther along and I would like to know if I do prove you wrong. Thanks' for the input.

    Pardon me but the big block T coupe, while a cool street rod build, is not what this board is all about.........traditional hot rods and customs. From the front disc brakes to the pro street tires on the back, it is not a HAMB friendly car. That is not say anything bad about the build or the builder, it just does not fit the board.

    I belive this one was built at creative metalworks in blaine,mn. This is the one that got me into T's. Kurt was finishing it when I started working there and I got to take it out a few times, pretty badass. So now 10+ years later I'm collecting parts to build one. Two coupe bodies, 401 nailhead (seems like the engine for T's), merc wheels, just bought another set of doors today, (5 doors to make 2), '60 buick rear, 40 ford axle and bones...and so one..

    Please excuse the messy shop but when things start going together I get excited and don't take time to put stuff away. Finally getting the chassis back together. I wanted the frame to be shiny on both the top and bottom sides ans was a little worried about how to accomplish that so I hung the frame from the ceiling in my shop and painted it on a 10 foot stepladder. Came out pretty good. Should be putting the body back on in a week or so.

    So I'm looking for grille ideas on my t coupe. anybody... I'm thinking A but want to run a large rad., overheating is not opition on my cars.

    Many shy away from the early T coupes because of all the wood sub-structure, those who are not detered are rewarded...NICE T quiet long time HAMBer:rolleyes:. Anymore pics to share?

    I will be soon. Yippeeeeee..... I'm in 575 for the body and frame, hope I didn't overspend with the patches it needs. Aiming for next year as I have to get a couple of other things cleaned up and gone. Plus I really need to finish the 37.

  17. Your right, I think they are the best looking coupes but the wood can be a problem. I took mine completely apart and replaced all the wood (rotten big time) and rebuilt the subframe and body structure with steel. There is 100 hours labor in just getting lookin like a car again, but it was well worth it!

  18. It's the stock deck. The fenders didnt bolt to the body like the 26-27's did, which is what I like about them. Gives it a nice tapered look.

    I don't think I have posted in here yet, so I will and hopefully not create a double post 20 pages back!

    Built from parts found on my Grandpa's farm in North Dakota.
    1929 Frame rails and front cross member
    1952 Flathead
    1948 3 speed (on the tree, column shortened to fit)
    1947-1948 Front suspension
    1947 Ford Rear suspension with a front spring on a flattened cross member
    1947 cross member cut to fit
    1947-48 clutch and brake pedals
    1925 Speedway body, going to a 1927 Coupe body
    1948 Ford 4" with 5.50x16s and 4.5" with 7.50x16s Firestones

    Future plans:
    Speedway headers that will get rebuilt into separate weed burners
    Dash will either get the SW guages or switch to a sectioned 1948 dash
    Seats need to be figured out
    No top, just wood bows
    Lots of patch panels for the body
    Lower the frame in relation to the suspension, so it isn't so high
    Chopped '32 radiator and shell
    guide headlights with turn signals on top
    12v generator
    hide full flow oil filter in stock or beehive filter
    Paint?

    Oh....I like this! I would have kept in on the 19"s too.....those are hotter then the steelies I think!

    I saved that pic for inspiration, but I think the steelies go better with the V8. Now that car with a 'banger would be a different story.
