Hi all, I've been lurking these boards for quite some time and I've got to say - what a collection of knowledge! I've been a long-time lover of cl***ic stepside pickups. I've been working my **** off for the past few years, and have recently finished some extra contracts which will hopefully see me find a gem and import it to Australia. I guess in order, my holy grail of trucks would be the 1956 F100, followed closely by the 1954 and 1955, and the 1953. Next in line would be the 1958/59 Chev Apache, followed by the 56 3100 (with the mesh grille), then the 57 3100 with the frog-mouth grille. I've recently grown to appreciate the 54 Chev trucks, and slowly growing on the 50-53 models. And I'm quickly growing on the 50-52 Ford F1s. Well, that's about it. I've been chasing a few listings lately, but unfortunately most people seem to think interest from overseas automatically equals a scammer. I look forward to learning more from everyone's collective knowledge, and contributing where I can! Cheers, Rewey
Just one other thing to note... over the past couple of months I've been pouring over pages and pages from this message board, and repeatedly came across people talking about this character called 'el polaco'... after pages and pages I thought 'wow, this guy seems to know EVERYTHING. He'll be the one to help if anything ever becomes an issue...' But then the more I read I learned of his sad p***ing. There were many people on the forum with genuine grief. All I could think was how great it was that an individual like that could garner so much respect from everyone on a forum like this. Makes you realise how good it is to be part of communities such as this... Cheers, Rewey
Hi Rewey Welcome from the otherside of the country,..however had fun visiting your home town last week. Amazing resource here,..so much to learn and so many good people to offer advice or to make you laugh! Good luck with the import and look forward to seeing pix at some stage!! Cheers Cam
Well, you know what they say - we're two hours and twenty years behind! I've noticed that you guys have posted during 'standard work hours' as well. Seems like it's universally agreed that the HAMB forum is the best way to p*** the day? Rewey
From what I saw when there you are catching up quickly! I have wasted many a day, sorry spent many days researching on the HAMB - Luckily I am an understanding boss
