30% rain friday 40% Saturday....not talking it down, it's a shame they get so much rain as this is one great event. One thing I will say is they are equipped to deal with it...and most of the time it's quick passing hard thundershowers. I have been going and vending since Gasser magazine event was there....but quit about 3 years ago thinking I was bringing the rain with me....wasn't the case...
So I'll ask again - is there a swap meet in addition to the drags? What time do they open tomorrow (Friday)? Is Friday worth it, or should I wait for Saturday? Thanks!
high winds, thunderstorms as cooler weather moves through Saturday.... I have seen bad weather in the area, and when I arrived at the reunion, it was blue skies over Thompson.... SO if there is a Willys god in the sky, he definitely smiles down on this event
NORMALLY the swap meet brings in maybe 25 or so vendors...some good stuff IF you are into older gassers / altereds , but seeing you are in to 55-57 I don;t recall seeing much (not to say it won't be there parts wise) All gassers and the 409 club participates heavily, so many 61-64 09 cars Website has actual staring times, load in was today Friday is as good as Saturday, go both days if you go at all.

The info that I was looking for was in your first post - I can read, and did read the site info, but found nothing about the swap meet, or (obviously) which day was best I have a '57 210 2dr post that is a real survivor D/G car that was campaigned in '65 & '66 with a 301 cu in 4spd, until the original owner missed a shift & threw a rod. He towed it to his grandmother's house & parked it, where it sat until I bought it in '85. It replaced a number of '56 & '57s that I raced in the 70s I originally ran a 427 in it, and recently installed a 468. It is set-up as it originally was - except now it would be a B/G car I am not a concourse guy, I am a gasser guy all the way, have been since I was a kid. I'm always looking for vintage speed parts - mostly for spares in case I break something I'm planning on heading up to Thompson in the morning (first time since the 70's), and wanted to do some recon before doing so Thanks for the info
not a problem...great event, great racing, swap meet usually has 1/2 dozen unfinsihed cars, + plenty of parts (gasser or race related) but take an umbrella. I quit going and vending due to the rain they get. It's only maybe 12-15 miles off the lake so when it rains it dumps. But as I said, as far as the racing goes, it's top notch....the track crew drys the track and they start over. You'll have plenty of 5-7 gasser cars....
