So the front wheels on the truck are chev 5 on 4 3/4 and the back wheels are ford p***. 5 on 4 1/2.
Can the rotors be re drilled to the ford patten? or are there rotors available?
The front end is out of a 70 nova.

    Thanks.

  4. I'd bet that you could easily re-drill the rotors.
I did a set of axles on the truck with one of rotten Leonard's jigs. Quality piece and it took roughly 1 hr per side. That's strip brakes, drill, clean chips, remove old studs, install new studs, re install brakes. Easy peazy

Definatally drill the rotors nice and slow lots of oil, new studs pressed out & new in and off you go.

Yes they can be redrilled, axles and drums, I've always farmed it out cause I don't have a lathe. Process I've seen is to use the lathe to scribe a line at diameter and either clock the lathe for hole position or use a mill. You can probably do it with less tech, but I want my brakes to work perfectly an not have any ghost wobbles from imbalance

Whether the rotors can be redrilled depends on the BACKSIDE of the rotor. Many rotors do not have a flat surface on the backside, they are cast with 'bosses' where the studs are intended to be placed and have hollowed areas in between.

If your rotors have flat surfaces of consistent thickness, then yes, they likely can be redrilled. If not, you may be better off buying new rotors appropriate for the pattern you want or changing the rear bolt pattern to match the front.

Just ordered TWO from him, to bring some common operations in-house.

A counterbore/spotfacer can be used on a front rotor to produce a flat for the stud head to set down on, where there was none.

PM me the size of the stud holes and I'll send you X-Y co-ordinates so you can drill them on a mill and get them exact.
Done this before for a friend to make wheel spacers with very good results.

5 on 4.5 Ford rims have a small center hole that can interfere with the center of the hub. Watch out

I just did a set of Chevy rotors using a dual pattern wheel like this. Just bolted it on using the Chevy pattern and drilled the Ford pattern on the drill press.

  13. I think their are some that have issues and some don't .
All I could check was what I have.
Chevy 5x5 rotors and axles took several sets of 5x4.5 wheel.
My unilugs fit 5x4.5 thru 5x5.
My multi patern 10 hole wheels fit 5x4.5 and 5x4.75
My wilwood hubs have dual patern and take both rims equally well.

I re-patten hubs, rotors, wheels and axles regulary. Everything except axles is done on the mill with a rotory table. Lots of times I need to spot face the backside of rotors, hubs.Axles hang off the table and use the DRO for the X&Y movements.

Just got my fixtures today. One common, one custom (which was made perfectly, and quickly!). Spot-on perfect. Drill bits included!
