I have a listing for a 39 Chevy 2 door that belongs to a family friend who recently lost her husband , i have it listed for 24,000, but am not sure on its value , can you guys take a look and give me some input
I know a guy with a 1940 2 door, much the same style, he's been asking $26-28K on, been on the market a few years now. A quick scan of '37-'40 sedans on ebay, completed listings, shows that $16-18K may be more realistic for asking price; sales look to be more in the $13-15 range, except for coupes and drop-tops, they go a little higher. The heck of it is that the more vintage or traditional look has let a lot of the air out of the balloon for these more "street-roddy" type cars. Later, *****6
From the pics, it looks like a very well done "Streetrod". If you find the right person, 24k is not out of line. The parts cost more than that. This car might do well at auction.
I've listed many cars like this for clients and $24k is a good starting price. Regarding Ebay....its not a value guide for either sold or asking prices...rather, its what a few people think its worth at one point in time......run it again, and the $$ usually change...for the better and worse. If its a well done car overall (and it looks that way) the price is justified. If it looks good and the parts used or the workmanship is questionable...then it sits until a proper price is posted. Remember, all you need is one *** for that seat! cars always sell, but don't sell yourself too short. Figure out the price your buddy's wife is happy with...you know, CASH on the hood! add 10 or 20% and negotiate to the $$ you can live with. Good Luck Murph
Your price depends on how old the work on the car is and your region. We all know that prices on the west coast are going to be higher than say Ind. or Ky. Is the interior leather, vinyl, tweed or valour? Is the drivetrain in good working order, stock or modern? All these things come into factor. From what I can tell from your pictures the top looks chopped. This can be a factor to someone who is 6ft.4". I'd say your being in california and if the interior is not crushed velvet, your value is pretty close. If the interior is older, I'd drop the price to between $18,000 & $22,000. How quick you want to sell it is also a factor. Good Luck
Where's the hood? Is the frontend a MII or Camaro stub? How clean is the bottom side? Why are the wiper towers upside down? I think $20K would be fair as it sits, but if you have the hood and can tell me it has MII then it may be worth more. That paint and those taillights are holding it back from too much more $$.
have the hood, it doesn't fit when the blower is on , so it was taken off for that , then when the bower came off the hood never got put back on and it is a camaro front clip
Altho I think you can't build it for $24000.00, I doubt you'll get that in this economy. Things are pretty slow here in the Dallas area--at least in the circle I travel in.
