My "What's it worth" post..disappeared!

  1. I went to check it out and found it had disappeared. I had a PM from an administrator saying it had been removed. I attempted to return his PM only to find out he doesn't accept them. There were 96 or so responses and I found the dialog helpful and sometimes humorous. Is this the norm here? If there had been a post that violated some rule, why not remove the post rather than the entire thread? Just wondering. Thanks, Jay

The administrators run this place. If I was you I would swallow my pride and be happy I got a few responses from it initially. Don't waste time posting a new thread on the same thing. It will not go well. I am being nice here....

  6. "What's it worth" posts are generally frowned upon. You've been a member here since 2008? You should know that.

What do you think is going to happen to this one?

  10. Thanks for the info. It was insightful. Wasn't attempting to make/start trouble.

FWIW, a lot of the time since 08 I was sailing outside the US. I didn't check in often. Learn something new again.

Jay, I'm sure it got deleted not so much for all the weird banter (which I was part of) but the fact that it turned into an Ebay link - that is a bit frowned on here. My guess anyway. Always good to see someone like you on here that lived the dream.

The rules are a bit strict around here. Ma and Pa HAMB rule with an iron fist.

It's not so much as to make or start trouble part - appears you have a great deal of old cars history........

Wonder why your post was deleted ?.
Basically you posted to find out from HAMB members what it might be worth and after you did get a general consensus , instead of posting it for sale in the HAMB classifieds for a HAMB member to have the opportunity to try to buy it directly from you, you put it on Ebay and fellow HAMB members have to bid against the world to buy it.
