Do you have 12 volts going to the key switch? N.N.

Sounds like maybe something's missing here. There should be a wire that takes off from that same starter terminal that's hot and goes to a distribution block, or fuse panel. There are several circuits that are hot all the time - lights, horn, brake lights, and ignition switch. If your kit came with a wiring diagram, get a 12V trouble light, or volt meter and start following that hot lead to see if it's connected to the right place.

As mentioned above, there are several areas to be tested. Don't forget to look at the neutral safety wires too.

    Too sparse a question man.
A word of advice though; when using any aftermarket wiring harness and existing wiring or hardware it is always a good idea to have the wiring schematics for the hardware and the original wiring handy as well.
You've got to remember that with an old vehicle there is a pretty good chance that someone else has screwed with that wiring in the past and that the color codes might not match up.
When I'm doing an ignition switch I always start out by finding the hot in and then locate the outs with a test light.

Ok, the first thing you need if you don't have one is the wiring diagram for a 80 something GM column mounted ignition switch to make sure you have the color coding right.

Here is the wiring diagram from and 80 Chevelle ignition switch which should be the same as almost all GM cars for several years [IMG]

You should be able to tell which pin and what color of wire does what on the switch by checking it.

The kit is from ez wiring. I used a test light and im getting power no where not even to the horn. I guess im missing a wire on the starter.
