What the hell is up with the fuzzy trim on the rear fender lips? Kind of like seeing John Wayne with a thong under his jeans.

  6. Why are you looking so hard at the dukes jeans? LOL

??? The Orange Crate didn't need any chrome; it went just fine. It was a very compe***ive car in it's day, and still show quality.

Stumbled across this post and glad to see the car is still in the northwest. My dad made a p*** in the car in Coos Bay back in the day. The fog rolled in at the top end and dad hit the fog bank at 120+. Instant claustrophobia. I worked for Bob Tindle back in the early '90's at his final lot off of Macadam here in Portland and he had a chance to buy the car back, the number thrown out was $100k, Bob hung up the phone and ended the chapter. Cool to see the piece of northwest history surviving and doing well. He told me a few stories about negotiating with a bottle of Scotch over royalties on the model kit. Bob wanted more than Roth was getting for his kits and got the deal done. It was also molded in blue and yellow with different graphics over the years according to Bob. I've got one of the yellow ones, but have never seen the blue. The word Iconic has been used quite a bit in this post, it fits....

I love that car. My orange, flipper body 34 Chevy is a homage to that car in my own way. Love it!

It is in great hands, probably one of the nicest father son teams you could ever meet.

I bought one of his Dad's cars. A very nice 36 Ford 5W. He was straight up and congenial. Told me the reason for selling...to finance the resurrection of the Orange Crate

  15. What an great car. Congratulations on the purchase-you are very lucky.
