I have one of only two that I remember seeing in my lifetime in this area. I had forgotton all about my uncle and me taking this out of a junk truck somewhere around 1965. It still has the working levers, blower motor and fan along with core and the plate that identifies it as a "GMC Superheater". Any info on this? I cant find anything about it and figured if anyone would know, it would be this group.
The ones I'm familiar with were from "North Wind" and were gasoline fired. Man did they put out the heat. In our 530 Fire Enhines. Short runs and maximimum heat in the case of the '53 Gimmy fire engines we had built up by Van Pelt. I'm a believer. We were in below Zero temp's settings. Normbc9
This one is a hot water heater with a core that covers the entire bottom. All the others were a small recirculating type or one close to it in design but with a fresh air inlet that attached to kick panel going to outside vent on right side of truck. This one is different than those and has a Harrison ID plate.
