http://erie.craigslist.org/clt/3749863985.html My uncle is looking for a T bucket and I found this one. So he sent a email to the guy asking for more pictures and a price. He sends back a YouTube video of it and says he wants $5900. For it. He says he's being deployed in three days and wants the car sold. And the car is in Chicago not Eire. He won't respond by phone because he has no reception but he can text message. He then says he wants 25% down and he will pay shipping and the balance due 10 days after delivery. Now every thing about this screams scam to me and I told my uncle not to bother with it. But I'm thinking that's gotta be someone's car they are using for this scam. He reported it as a scam on Craigslist. Now only if we could find the guy and give him a punch to the throat. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
This IS the Uncle, and thank you all. I learned something today. By the way, how much are you asking for the bridge, and will you ship it for free too?
That I'm in the military and being shipped out and need to sell my car seems to be the new scam all over the place. Usually it's a later model advertised far below book price that they try to scam people on though. The "ship it" thing is the obvious scam clue.
Sure, it was brought to Havasu in pieces and if you have never visited there, each block was umbered for reassembly Yea, but it wouldnt be anywhere near the $6k range.
I called on that ad, and he told me that he was working on an oil rig and had to have the money wired before he would ship it. Total scam. Then it was 9500 bucks. Same youtube video, etc.
