  2. LMAO, great, now I'll get 100 PMs asking "how much do you want for your T bucket."

I have to clean coffee off my laptop and out of my nose, too damn funny. WELL played.

Can you spin the tank 90 degrees so that the fuel fittings point to the side?

If it was a stock car, lol. I did get a 150° fitting that shoots the line right back under the side of the cell though.

It's pretty close, just a little reshape on the front and 4 body mounts. Still need to figure out taillights. Eventually, the rear end will need to be moved back a few inches.
Prewarcars, you can have yours back. Thanks for letting me borrow yours.:)

OK, I was planning on getting a set of 50 Pontiac taillights to stick on the back panel, but I got to staring at the side and it looked pretty bare and long. I had the taillights mounted on cut down model A stems, but they stood verticle, not horizontal. I started to make stems out of pipe, but the model A stems have a nice arch that I wanted to keep. Sooooo, I cut the mounting end off and rotated it 90°, easier said than done since the wires run inside an I was burying a mounting screw. After a couple hours of messing with the first one, the second one went pretty quick. I still had to cut both of them up little to get them adjusted alike after I thought I was finished with them. I still need to shape up the bases some so they don't have any straight edges.
I think they really help break up the excessive length that was bothering me.

It helps. Try some 75 or 85 series tire, You'll get better mpg & mph. It looks decent, it.

I agree. My tire is 27" tall. I have plans to get a set of 9" x 28.5" cheaters.

I did a quick and dirty photochop. I think the tire will help a lot (after a lot of scrutiny from a friend also - that hates my short tires).

Moving to the front where something else has been bothering me.
Ok, I did a little shopping and may have figured something out. These are the Eddie Munster headers I had on there before.

I have my downpipes done. I don't like Glaspacks much, but I really couldn't come up with a simple solution. I don't have the Glaspacks on yet, I'm planning on cutting about 6" out of each one and putting turndowns on the ends. Everything I'm putting on the exhaust will be painted Satin Black. I think it really sleekens up the look of the car.

Nice examples, I was originally going to run a straight 2 1/2" pipe with a turnout and make a baffle, but I need to get this car on the road again before next weekend - and I'm getting too lazy right now to do that, lol. I think I will get a set of stainless band clamps to put these mufflers on so I can make the set of baffled pipes I really want.
    Thanks for the interception, lol.

I just got a good tip. The outside diameter of the muffler I have is 3 1/2". Cut the muffler off where you want it, cap off the end of the chamber there, then slip a 3 1/2" turndown on the body of the muffler. It will end up looking more like a flared tailpipe sort of.

Thanks, I'm trying to tone down some of the cheesiness, lol. I'm planning on putting a set of nice tires on it, painting the whole thing black, and putting some classy tomato red pinstriping on it. Maybe even a hood.

Always liked your car as it was...and I'm liking what your doing to it now!
They're never finished, so in reality you're just moving along the path a little farther!
    Very cool.

OK, got the turnouts in the mail today.
Started by cutting the "cap" off the end of the glaspack.

Then cut the housing back to the length I needed it with the turnout on.

Put the "cap" back on the end of the shortened glaspack.

Cut the excess length out of the perforated tube.

Dressed the weld down so the turnout will fit.

Tried it on the car. I think it will look good painted satin black yet

I changed my mind about putting the Shorty's on. A full muffler moved forward a little fit real well and looks right.

I'm not too thrilled with the $8 can of VHT "satin" black. It's too glossy, but I'm sure it will fade down.
