Folks Of Interest Larry Monreal, Land speed racer, built a 33 truck in 53/54 ? anyone know about this?

Spoke to Larry on the phone this morning, Very nice and helpful gent, and yes it was his truck!, he confirmed that it was built with the Columbia diff thats in it still, and that he had two or three different engines in it whilst he owned it. It took a little while for him to get his head around what I was talking about, I think I was a bit nervous! I promised to mail him some photos of the car now, and Ill write him a letter explaining what is going on with it now. Told me he is still Landspeed racing, which is amazing, over fifty years at the lakes! I will call him again once he has the photos, and hopefully get some more details, and some stories about the truck and his days racing..

Does anyone Know 'Flathead Fever' personally on here? would love to let him know his scanned shots led to uniting the current owner with the original builder fifty five years ago!!

Interesting thread, just hungout with Larry's Granddaughter. She was amazed on how much info was on here of him. He is still alive and his son has the yellow Ghia im the garage. Larry and Anette are still around. Great thread.
