Greetings folks. I am a 62 year old trucker from Kitchener, Ontario. My next door neighbour found me a '50 Ford flathead 8BA on his aunt's farm in northern Ontario. I had asked him if there was any old iron up there on the farm that needed some resurrecting so he brought me back the flathead. I have been toying with building a rat rod and I guess this is a start. Just started pulling it apart today and find lots of sand, dirt and various vegetation in it. Well it has been sitting in a field for 30 or 40 years, eh! There are the usual cracks between the head bolt holes & water p***ages but so far nothing too serious. Does anyone know how plentiful parts are in Canada? Thanks ... Billy
Hi Billy Welcome to the board from a relative new guy as well. Although I've been a member for a while I don't tend to post much at all. But when I have a question I find this place to be a great place to look for an answer. In answer to yours...I too have a flat head, a 47, in a 32 high boy. I know of a few people who know of a few people who have access to some flat head parts. Whether they are plentiful here in Canada is anyone's guess I suppose but I find myself usually getting parts out of the states. If you find yourself in a bind I can certainly p*** along a name or two to try and help you out. Have fun and good luck in getting your rat rod started in more ways than one. Norm
