I am gathering the parts to build a 34 Ford woodie. What I have in mind is a truck cowl section and wooden doors and main body. I would like to keep the door contours in the front going to flat in the rear. I do ok working with wood and have the tools. I could use a little advice and a set of plans or pictures if there are any out there or if you have built one and could email some to me. The general idea is to build a daily driver, 2 door with a back seat. This way if I go to a swap meet and want to take some friends we can all pile in. I will also build in a hitch receiver and build a trailer to match the car. Why go to a swap if you can't bring anything home! how about a little help guys???
Probably a home grown version with the heavy truck wheels and axles. I don't think it ever was a factory deal so you have no "rules" to follow.
You might also check out the discussions over at the National Woodie Club. It is predominately a restoration geared site, but there are quite a few phantom woodies and modified cars. Forums: http://nationalwoodieclub.com/phpBB3/
Hercules MFG. in Florida is the place to call. They build a complete repop 34 woody in either a tudor or 4 door. Cecil will help you with your plan.
Those pics are not exactly what I have in mind. Mine is going to be sportier than that. choped windshield. possibly lower the windshield a little closer the the cowl. We are using 16 in. spoke wheels and made some wide ones for the rear. Flat head with Edelbrock 2 carb. intake. Offenhouser heads and a Borg/warner 5 speed that we made our own adapter for. I beam front and coil overs in the rear all on 4 bar. It is going to be a 2 dr. and I want to use the original door hinges on the cowl. I have been told seuiside doors make it hard to get into and out of the back seat.
