Ok, I just got done changing the steering control valve on my fairlane(finally) and as I'm gettin ready to put her down off the jacks I noticed that the inside part of the p***enger tire is damn near gone! The drivers side is fine, and its an older tire. I test drove the car for about 10 miles the other day and it felt fine, just had to fix a leaky hose that I put on wrong. Now am wondering if I could have done something wrong on the control valve install because I've never seen just one side get messed up before. What do you think?(P.S. I checked past posts and didn't see anything of the like, sorry if I missed it)
Probably camber alignment. Could be a worn upper ball joint also. Good idea to check the condition of the tie rod ends and idler arm while your at it.
I'll have to check them out, too dark to tell right now. Think I can just take it to a tire shop? I don't remember there being any wear on it before so I'm kinda worried to drive it as it appears I went through half a tire in like 10 miles. Really ****s, I was supposed to drive it to the swap meet this weekend
i think its safe to say that if you had this tire on the car for a while now that you'd notice ANYTHING that would wear the tire this fast (in ten miles) it'd be pulling like a *****
