Met a cool old timer who told me he wanted to show me an old car he wants to sell, didn't realize what i was in for.Figured i'd share. 51 Mercury convertible he had built years ago and a 30 roadster that he built in the 50's when he was in high school for shop cl***.
Yes, pretty cool he still has them after all this time. He said the roadster was put on a 40 ford frame that was sitting around, dropped axle up front..
* Look at the pictures & enlarge - yep - something going on with the frame & the way it goes under the body -
Wow, that Mercury is really cool, especially the continental kit. I like the way the roadster is built, old school.
Looks like the Coupester has a 40ish frame... wonder what mods he had to do to make that work. Great job for a High school student and a hell of a lot of work! Notice the molded in rear fenders mounted above the reveal for the channel and the front fenders were made from later model Ford 35-37 spare tire continental kits
I like the chrome dash on the Merc but it would be a killer with the top down and the sun at your back Fit and finish looks great.
