So I am getting ready to add some Elec parts to my truck such as cooling fan, water pump and fuel pump. Now rather then having 3 flip style switches....I was wondering what other people have done for a vintage look. So I was thinking I will would ask for some ideas, pics, thoughts and how-2's on this subject. :D

    Thanks

What era are you thinking of? I'm always looking for old switches and stuff but stuff or my 30s cars would look odd on an early 60s build.

  3. for switches i like the push/pull type instead of toggle. then you can put any type of knob you want on them...So-Cal has some nice ones , or you can make your own

Tommy, this would be for my 66 ford f100! It does have the push pull kind and I would like to stay with that style! Even the heater controls are push pull! Where do you find these styles?

I'd use the stock Ford switches even if the application is changed. I'm cheap and use junk yard switches but a Ford truck parts store will have replacements most likely and the will probably be better quality than the off shore universal stuff. JMHO

Old house switches and a multi-position switch from an old electric stove, because I'm looking for that cluttered, mis-matched look one sees on vintage Bentley dashboards. Hence I pounce on anything that has the requisite antique phone/public works department flavour. They will be used with relays, as they were designed for high voltage and low amperage.

    This is what I mean:

Wow Ned that dash is badass! I am gonna look into LMC for some push pull type switches also.
