Over the summer took a few pictures of Rusting Tin that is " not for sale" Would love to have a few pieces off these rusty hulks.. but got to respect the guy that will "eventually" get to "restore" these rusters. From the look of some of these guys.. the restoration will probably be done by the heirs.. via a crusher.. I always watch for some change .. but it has been years. A picture is the best I can do for now.

i have two of those. 54 a40 somerset converibles. i also have a 4dr sedan. unfortunatly after i bought em (just to save them from the s****per) i tarped em and put them beside the barn. forgot about them. last time i checked them...several years ago. i opened the door on the best one and it broke right off the hinges.

i dont have pics but i know where there is a 57 nomad sitting under a back porch of a house for at least 30 years i know of. also i went to look at an aquaintances 69 charger and tucked over in the corner there is a 57 ford convert that his mom bought new. its not pretty but very very fixable. neither are for sale.

BMW 1942 factory prototype for their postwar 328 sports car

Had they been caught building this thing I am sure they would have been taken into the street and shot!

It's been in a fire but I'll still restore it in the next few year For now it can be a project on the shelf :)

Hodad, theres gotta be hundreds of those kinda things in Kansas just sittin around waitin to be ''restored'' or ''I`m gonna fix er up one of these days'' deals. I watched a 35 Plymouth coupe go from nice 15 years ago to nothin but rust holdin hands nowdays! The guy just won`t part with it! One particular car [ 57 Cadillac ] has set for 25 years waitin for fixin up! Its one of those things that people think its worth a fortune and they are not gonna give it away for cheap! They see them in papers or hear about ''one just like it'' sold for $$$$$$$ and think theres is worth that too!

Bluto, how did that come into your possession? That car's amazing.

  11. That they did!:D

I know its not traditional, but I know where theres a '68 GT500 convertible thats been outside under a tarp for probably 25 years now. He absolutely refuses to sell it. And I know where there is a black '57 Nomad in excellant shape in a barn. Long story but the car cant be sold. It just has to sit there and wait for the MIA owner to come back for it;).

There was a local junk yard that refused to sell anything after the father had p***ed 20 years went by and when the final daughter p***ed it was given to the church, The cars were sold off but nothing was more than a rotted shell. It's a shame.

When I started looking for an old car project in the early 70's I came across a nice complete Henry J. The owner said he would never sell it because it belonged to his son that was killed in Vietnam.

I first saw a photo of the car in 1975 Contacted the owner and asked if it was for sale....nope but we struck up a frendship that last til today
The car sat in Fresno Ca in a shed with an AC Bristol and a Veritas Rennsport....
One dayin I got a call from my friend The shed behind his had straw baskets in it had caught fire. The firemen didn't notice the cars till his shed was also involved. It was really sad.....some years later we were talking He told me he was never going to restore any of that stuff....just too sad about it

I sold the AC for him and brought the other two.

I restored the Veritas Gordini we made a polished Allunium body for it
    Now lives in Germany

I'll start in on this end of next year I always try to have half dozen major projects going at once

There is still a lot of history out there waiting for all of us........

  19. I had my eye on this one for a few years and watched as it sat in the rain unloved, last fall it did finally become available and went to a hamber...
