Hello all, I'am John from around detroit.. I'am building a 1941 plymouth special delux. The car has been in my family since 1942.. My grand dad left it to my dad and he left it to me. This is my first project.. And i wanna do my daddy proud. I'am gonna go the hotrod rout.. I put a 74 nova front subfraim in it.. Made my own rear quarter panels and rocker panels (Never done that before lol ). The car was in pretty rough shape when i got it. But I'am getting it straightened out. I have no real training or expierance with this kind of project so I came here where all the knowledge and expierance of as many people as I could ever ask is located :). My entire family are mechanics.. And I turned out to be a carpenter lol (Go Figure).. But they lend a hand when they can and have been a lot of help.. Iam goin with a 355 SBC.. 700r4 trans.. 9" rear end. Making my own interior... Basically I want to do everything with my own hands Just like my dad and gpaw..

Thanks for havin me H.A.M.B. members and I look forward to makin some new friends and getting this project done :).

    John ( AKA : Daddys Mistake )

Welcome to the H.A.M.B. Nice project! It'll make a fun car and that's what it's all about. I believe that your Dad would be proud that you chose to do this.

Welcome. There is a ton of lmowledge here from which you can learn. As you develop ideas share them with others. A two way deal. Love the coupe!! Plus, extra nice since you have a blood connection to it. Please keep us posted...words and photos.

Hello from Chi-Town. Just joined today. I like your project. I acquired a 1939 P8 Coupe a couple years ago and havent done anything but driven it around the block. Bought a 383 engine and trans from a 68 charger, but haven't had time to install. I need your info on the front end install. I have a lot of play in the wheel and would like rack and pinion. If there were a chasis that would fit I would just swap it out. If my measurements are correct the Dodge Durango is the ticket. How hard was the swap. I drive for the city now but I too am a union carpenter.
