I wish I had a pic, the headliner was replaced a while ago with your standard basket weave... I know theres a place that sells reproduction fabrics that might have it. My buddy got some of the weird tiger-stipe looking material for his '67 Pontiac from them.

rprice- could you get a pic of yours? I don't even know if it would show up in photos, from what I remember its a very small print; you'd think it was basket weave or something from a distance. Maybe in the right light?

here it is. so i was thinking on the way home from having the Mercury towed to my place.. If I cant find this material ,,,, i will end up using what is good from mine and redoing my sun visors in them to atleast keep some on the fabric alive,
if all goes well ill be offering the service of redoing other sunvisors , and if you use SEM vinyl dye you can get them to a color that fits your car

ok so here is part of what the P.O did to the ignition wires after he fried them. he used home electrical wiring, had 2 home wire nuts, never peeled back the electrical tape to seperate the burt and now making contact wires. Under the hood harness was worse.picture to come after its all the way out
i pulled the ignition switch out and pulled the dash gauges out too. :d that thing is freaking heavy ! i love it!

well this is the under hood ignition harness. and believe it or not even all fried, i can still use the end plugs ill just solder new wires and even go as so far as to match the colors. .

On even beter news, i got it to start , just by passed the ignition switch, put hot (from battery positive cable) to the ignition coil positive , hooked up the distributor to the negative, jumped the positve and s terminal on the solenoid and sprayed starting fluid in the carb, FIRED RIGHT UP stays running aslong as i keep spraying.

im going to put a mechanical fuel pump back on and delet the electric fuel pump that someone once added. Im not sure why they didnt just install a new mechanical pump last time. , the old one is still there just hanging out....
im super excited to finish the rewire and reinstall the dash and see how it moved about. I REALY REALY want this to be my summer car

Glad to hear it runs! That wiring is KRISPY for sure! Just take your time and all will be well. I was suprised at the ammount of plastic in use in 1963! In the Edsel there is some - but not much - lots of rubber. In 63 it seems they had a lot more plastic in use.

I'm lucky in that it looks like mine was re-wired not to long ago. Some strange stuff though - the brakelights are actuated by a movement switch on the pedal instead of through the normal pressure switch. *shrug*. No idea why this was done.

Nice - only a little blow-by. Sounds pretty smooth. And yours moves forward - you're now officially ahead of me. Mine moved backwards - now not at all (transmission out for rebuild). :p

Also forgot to state it's odd - my belts also squeak the same way - I may have the wrong alternator clamp on there - dunno yet - haven't dug that far into mine.

My father bought a '63 Breezeway coupe when it was two or three years old. It had the 390 two barrel motor. There is a '63 Breezeway four door at Nick's Salvage in San Antonio.

Those look to be 64's. Amazing their headliner lasted as long as they did in this dry climate! I don't know how many dried out / sun baked interiors I've had to deal with in my life - but its a lot. Sometimes I think it'd be nice to find a car with an awesome interior and bad exterior just to switch it up!

I like the power seat idea. Did you ever find a power window setup?

Bench seats are pretty cool - I remember driving my old 64 Chevy Bel-Air with the bench seat. If we were strapped for time / cars - you could fit 8 or 9 people in that sedan - if they were skinny and friendly - 7 was better - 6 had PLENTY of room.

BTW - does yours have power steering?

Thanks. Yeah I miss it sometimes. I had it for about 16 years or so. I never needed any oddball body/interior parts as the car was 100% complete. For rubber, electrics, and other misc. I always used Mac's.

NICE! 63 2dt Hard Top S55! $300 for that door is a bit much. I'd rather spend that getting my stock one straight!
