Should the flywheel on a 250 out of a 69 mustang have a weight?

 

Should be zero balance.

 

The 200 and 250 are internally balanced and should have no weight on the flexplate/flywheel.

 

I think kracker36 meant "should have no weight on the flexplate/flywheel"

Ok but this thing is vibrating like a son of a bitch

 

In neutral,or just at speed? Speed only could be driveshaft.

 

It vibrates at idle as well

 

Neutral driving the worst is in gear on the brake

 

No straight sixes ever used weights.

You have already been answered a couple of times. It's a Zero balance fly wheel. I other words, no it won't have an external weight on the flywheel or flex plate. If it does, then someone has put a small block flywheel on iy and it will vibrate like nobodies business.

 

from what I remember, the early 6's didn't run harmonic dampeners, and thus got a vibe running down the crank after 5500RPM.

 

A 289/302 157 tooth flywheel is the same diameter as a 250. It they bolted that on, the engine will shake like a vibrating bed in an hourly motel......

 

Six cylinder inlines are all internally balanced.

 

There is no weight on the flywheel and it still vibrates at idle
