Hi Guys, looking to bring a relatively small crate out of the US to Australia, weight is about 80lbs and about 3.5 foot square. Haven't sorted logistics out yet of moving it internal in the US, but was just wanting to see who was using what companies to get it across the seas to Aus. Time isn't an issue, just looking of best bang for the buck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Where abouts are you in Australia ? You should look for some one (Freight Broker Customs handler) that is close to you and specalises in car parts. Smith Interantional here in Castlemaine import and export parts cars etc. all the time. I have not used them for some time but I know people that do.
I'm in Canberra but shipping to either Melbourne or Sydney is probably best and I can pick up from there. Ill give smith a call tomorrow as a start cheers
Check with the companies that ship complete cars out to Australia. They've generally got space for a small crate or two in the corners of the containers, and will probably ship it for you cheaper than someone who has to make a profit on every box they handle. Cheers, Glen.
Kiwishipping/Mainfreight http://www.kiwishipping.com.au spe******es in auto related import/export to NZ and Australia. Run by hot rodders and racers for over ten years.
Smiths can most likely handle all the logistics and have it shipped to any place you want. Although I would suggest you shop round and try some of the others suggested. Some one closer to you would be easier to deal with.
Where in the states are you needing it shipped from? I use a couple different shippers in the bay area if it is somewhere in the western U.S. ---John
Just confirming that now, ive checked out kiwi shipping and at the moment they seem the best coast to coast, just got to get it to their depot in LA now. I'll know more when i get home tonight cheers steve
