air cleaner id help???

    picked up a pair of these oddballs last weekend , one now resides on my 55 roadmaster....... anyone have a clue as to when & where these came from??

    Definitely not homemade , they're m*** produced , just not sure of where or when.

    They may be for a boat application or designed to clear low hoods. I'd almost bet that if you waltzed into a Harley shop with one of those aircleaner covers and the element that's under it you would find a match in the "old bike" bike parts.

    Im guessing its a boat application , the filters & covers are a little too big for bikes , thanks man.

    I think I've seen something similar on a 53/54 Studebaker, but can't seem to find a picture of the car I'm thinking about. It could be that these are boat or other application and just fit under that Stude's low hood...
