Yep that was my first timed around with a Y block in a 32.
You can see what I was talking about with the firewall.

My buddy and I both have Y Block powered 32 Roadsters. We are running electric fans on ours which enables you to run a stock firewall. My engine is out right now, but I'll get you some pics of his, they are identical...

Here is a pic of mine during the build. Gives you an idea. I will get a pic of the engine compartment with radiator and grill shell...

Sorry, can only get one pic to load at a time. Here is one showing the firewall. Like I said, I am running an electric fan, but the more I think about it, I think my buddy is running a stock fan. I'll check tomorrow and get you some pics...

    Bubba,
Take a look at ford-y-block.com to see lots of info on yblocks and speed parts. There is great stuff out there for this motor.

Noticed that many are running the center motor mount with rams horn manifolds. What do you do about exhaust pipe clearance issues? Is there a reason not to just use front mounts?

If you move the crossmember up 2" inches and run rams can you still run a F1 box?

I want to know the same thing. I hope to mock this uP later this summer. I don't want to move the crossmember up. I may put the axle in front of the spring and move the radiator forward.

Another bump. Is it possible to install a Y block in to a 32 and keep the stock early ford trans / k member and closed driveline?

    TIA

Still would like better pictures of the fan , be it electric or mechanical and how to save the firewall . We have a 32 pickup so space is at a premium. But would love to run the Y block.
Does F100 steering still work for clearance?

I'm squeezing a 292 into a '29, using homemade center m/m's. I moved the front x-mem about 2" forward and recessed the lower firewall to get the dizzy in and out. I don't thing ramhorns will work with the center mounts. you can get stock engine mounts from NAPA, or I have a new set to sell (from NAPA). If you need any measurements of the engine or pics, PM me.
