That's the name that got me first hooked on traditional customs Doesn't seem a lot (out of my range) for such a historically significant car http://www.coys.co.uk/auction.php?itemID=3030&auctionID=33
Not crazy about the color and the monochrome steering wheel, but interesting history considering the early vintage of this custom. The fadeaways make the car look rather stubby.
That's just stunning. I'm curious to see what it brings in Europe. My money is that it ends up in Scandinavia but who knows. In more amusing news look at the estimate on that '53 Bel Air 4 door... And there's a car in the auction that I used to own, the 63 Vanden Plas. Always wondered what happened to it.
Wow that's a lot of money for a Westergard car. Look at how much his 32 ford sold for a few years back
I don't know what condition it was in when it was brought back to life. an easily picked apart opinion but I sort of think there is a duty to restore it rather than reinterpret it 90,000 euros comes in at about $118,000
I would be surprised if it brings that kind of money. Customs just don't seem to sell for really high dollars.
Here is a link to some photos of the car in various stages. http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_...cars/harry_westergard/40_mercury_convertible/
Anybody know what color the car originally was (the first pictures in the above link)? Black or blue? The current candy paint is inappropriate for this car and to reflect the era it was built IMO.
